I’m trying to get fit and I think I’ve seen a picture somewhere of a motorised hand cycle attachment that fits onto your manual wheelchair. Am I right? Is there a supplier in Melbourne?

There sure is!

There's a couple on the market- some full powered, others full arm powered.
Team Hybrid has a combined electric/ arm power handcycle that attaches to your chair. IT IS FAST!

Definately worth a look.
Have a look on the website at the Cougar; (And yes there is a local distributer)

Any other questions? shoot away....

Hi, another alternative is a Firefly or a Dragonfly. See: http://riomobility.com/en/ I have a dragonfly which is cheaper than any alternative I have seen and works pretty well. The biggest disadvantage with this kind of cycle is that there is not much weight on the front wheel which means no traction going up hills. The dragonfly will only handle a slight upslope so don't expect too much. PS If you are trying to get fit why do you want a motorised attachment?

Fair question gedi42! Maybe some of us just need a little assistance to get out there ;)
